The Realization of the Eternal Life in Me, Jeremy Suh

I will never forget one summer night in 1996. We, five college students, were driving home. All of a sudden our driver screamed and the car was crossing the center yellow line and had already been crushed by the other car. In that accident, we lost one of our dear friends and the rest of us were carried to emergency rooms of nearby hospitals.

At the juncture of the accident, my body was definitely groaning. My face was mixed with the blood and fragments of my glasses and it started to swell up. However, the one thing that I can surely say is I was in peace and inward comfort. I was not nervous or worried, but rather calm and restful in my spirit.

In the book entitled The Christian Life, Witness Lee says that Jesus Christ is life: “Christ is the eternal life, eternal in time, quality, perfection and completion, indestructible and incorruptible.”

Even though my experience of regeneration was genuine at the age of twelve, I didn't treasure the life that I received so much. The Lord sovereignly put me into a situation so that I would treasure His life which is perfect, complete, indestructible and incorruptible. The life of God in me is never afraid of death (1 Corinthians 15:20), but rather supplies me and empowers me in every circumstance. The realization of the life that I received has brought me an enjoyable fellowship with the local church. Praise the Lord! I've received the eternal life and am growing in life in the local church.
